Balancing Acts: Calgary's 6th Annual Disability Arts Festival
Stage Left Productions was proud to produce Balancing Acts: Calgary’s Sixth Annual Disability Arts Festival. With the theme of ‘Expanding the Network’, the Festival hosted Calgary’s regional outreach meeting for the Disability Arts & Culture, artist talk-backs, panel discussions, and workshops for young, emerging artists in the disability community.

The Festival was host to seven different live performances, three various Fine Arts Galleries, and fostered community partnerships with Autism & Aspergers’ Friendship Society, Cerebral Palsy Association in Alberta and Independent Living Resource Centre in Calgary.

The work of over fourty artists with disabilities was showcased throughout the week-long Festival and highlights included the Canadian debut of inter-disciplinary artist Lisa Bufano; Calgary premiere of David Roche and Bonnie Sherr Klein; and the world premiere of Alan Shain’s new piece Time to Put Your Socks On…
